Eukanuba and ADI - Promoting Assistance Dog excellence worldwide

Assistance dogs play an important role in the lives of hundreds of thousands of physically impaired people who rely on dogs' trainability and intelligence in making everyday tasks easier and more manageable. Assistance Dogs International Inc. (ADI), is an umbrella organization for some of the most recognized assistance dogs groups worldwide. Its mission includes:

• Establishing and promoting standards of excellence in all areas of Assistance Dog acquisition, training and partnership
• Facilitating communication and learning among member organizations
• Educating the public to the benefits of Assistance Dogs and ADI membership

In May 2009, Eukanuba and the ADI signed a long-term partnership contract to further explore opportunities to strengthen the visibility and commitment of both organizations, and to fulfill their missions in the area of animal well-being, dog training and public education on the role of assistance dogs in our societies.

Eukanuba and ADI will work together to develop new programs and tools directed at breeders of assistance dogs, trainers and all people supporting the mission of the ADI. By communicating the role and importance of ADI dogs, Eukanuba aims to raise the profile of the ADI and to explore fund-raising opportunities for the organization. This allows more assistance dogs to benefit from best nutrition while raising standards and training as advocated by the ADI and its partners.
